Tony and Emmy Award-winner brings her cabaret show to the Bardavon!
(Poughkeepsie, NY) The Bardavon is pleased to present the Tony and Emmy Award-winning singer, dancer and actor Bebe Neuwirth in Songs with Piano on Saturday, March 3 at 8pm, at the Bardavon in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Bebe Neuwirth captivates her audiences time and again with her flawless stage presence and striking voice. Her beauty, talent and versatility have made her an icon of the stage and screen. Ms. Neuwirth will be appearing at the Bardavon for the first time to showcase the incomparable vocal talents that have graced so many Broadway stages.
In this intimate evening of cabaret-style entertainment, Ms. Neuwirth will perform pop songs and some of the greatest Broadway hits, from Sondheim to Weill, with her signature vibrato style. The stories are the songs, and a piano provides the backdrop for Ms. Neuwirth’s expressive, emotive performance.
She most recently starred as Morticia in The Addams Family on Broadway and also as Velma in the Broadway production of Chicago for which she won a Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, and Astaire Award. She also received a Tony for her role as Nickie in Sweet Charity. Her other Broadway credits include Fosse, Damn Yankees, Dancin, Little Me, and A Chorus Line. She has performed leading roles in numerous regional theater productions including West Side Story for the Cleveland Opera, the title role in Kiss of the Spiderwoman on London’s West End, The Three Penny Opera at A.C.T., and Katherine in The Taming of the Shrew at Williamstown Theater Festival.
Ms. Neuwirth’s work in film includes Liberty Heights, Summer of Sam, Celebrity, Jumanji, Green Card, The Paint Job, Bugsy and Tadpole, among others.
On television she is well known for her role as Lilith on Cheers and Frasier, for which she won two Emmy Awards. Other television appearances include her Emmy-nominated portrayal of Dorothy Parker in Dash and Lily and guest work on Star Trek, the Next Generation.
And Ms. Neuwirth is proud to be an Honorary Zeigfeld Girl.
